Hi,
Just wondering if you need to use the side brackets when using the top handle. Would often prefer to leave them off for weight but I wasn't sure if it's bad to put so much pressure on the 4 small screws at the top when using a top handle.
Cheers,
Josh
Are side brackets necessary for top handle?

Hi Josh,
Side brackets are not needed for adding strength to the ALEXA Mini. You can use handles, and also baseplates - such as the standard MAP-2 or the broadcast plate for ALEXA Mini - without the need for side brackets.
The sensor mount of the ALEXA Mini is a one-piece supporting structure carved from titanium, that surfaces on both sides of the camera in the forms of M4 accessory threads.
Please note you can also attach the handle CCH-2 directly to either side of the ALEXA Mini, without the need to attach a baseplate first.
Best regards,
Jeanfre
