There is some discrepancy between the online Arri Frameline Composer, and the PDF called "Recording Areas & Surround Views". Could someone from Arri clarify this please?
1. In the PDF, it says that 2K ProRes uses photosites 2868x1612. Then it says the 2.39 Flat frameline uses 2880x1206. How can framelines add 12 more horizontal photo sites?
2. In the Frameline Composer website, it says that 2K ProRes uses photosites 2867x1613. Why is this different than the PDF?
3. I'm shooting a project at 2K ProRes, using 2.39 frame guides. For a specific shot, I want to shoot either 3.2K or UHD with a center extraction for post stabilization, and I want the apparent lens focal length to stay the same. Therefore, I can set user rectangle to width .900 (2880/3200) and height .670 (1206/1800). Is that math correct?

Dear Llama,
1. 2K ProRes uses a source resolution of 2868x1612 photo-sites which is internally scaled to 2048x1152. This is not a 2.39 format, it is 16:9! The frameline would be 2868/2.39=1200 >> 2868x1200 for 2.39.
Set Format to ProRes and Resolution to 2K.
2. The Frameline composer calculates these sizes for all our cameras, minor (1-3px) discrepancies are due to mathematical rounding.
3. Keeping the above in mind you would have to set it to: .896 width (2868/3200) and .667 height (1200/180).
Best,
Jan

Okay thanks. So the PDF that says 2880px wide is an error?
