Hi there.
Im a Filmaker from chile, we are having our first Alexa 65 shooting next week , so i have a couple questions.
We are using the arri65 lenses as well as some hawk 65 anamorphics.
Does the camera has the same anamorphic deezquese settings for monitoring than a normal XT?
For these lenses should i use opengate or cropmode 1:50:1?
If in open gate mode, a normal clipon Matte box ( lmb-20) Will it viggnete?
Any Other specific consideration, beside everithing you take in when shooting with an Alexa XT.
Please help me as Soon as posible
Thanks a lot

Hello Matias,

That's awesome.
The ARRI Rental Prime 65 lenses cover the entire Open Gate area of the A65's sensor. Regarding anamorphic, like the Alexa XT, the A65 camera has an Anamorphic Desqueeze feature for all Anamorphic lenses that can be applied to all monitoring outputs. For the Hawks, you would use the 1.30x factor. Regarding the image circle of those lenses, I will get you in touch with the ARRI Rental office to discuss lens coverage and the appropriate recording aperture options.
The Alexa 65 is an Alexa camera - if you have used any Alexa camera, you will feel very comfortable with the A65.
Enjoy!

Best Regards,
David

Thanks david.
Normaly with an Alexa XT mixing anamorphic and spherical, means switching back and foward from 4:3 to 16:9 sensor mode ( keeping the 2:39:1 flat guideline with espherical.
In this case ,
What a the best sensor setting in both cases ?
I guess opengate with flat 2:39:1 marker for espherical.
But for anamorphic 1.3 X should be crop mode 1:50:1 ?
