Hi, need some help pls, the Alexa eyepiece isn’t turning on. The side panel works. Also on eye piece small square panel that I don’t think is usually visible.

Is it called a reflex leaf?

Hi Chester,

The display inside of the eyepiece is turned on by a proximity sensor, behind the small square window in the lower part, when you place your eye to the eyepiece. If the display does not turn on the proximity sensor is probably damaged and will need to be repaired at an ARRI service center.

In the meantime if you must continue working with the viewfinder you may turn on the display manually in the menu. MENU>Monitoring>EVF/Monitor>Settings>EVF Power> On.

If you take this route pay attention to the warning that will be displayed. As leaving the display on for extended periods of time will cause burn-in in the OLED display which will be a much more expensive repair, so make sure you turn the display off when not used.

And please contact one of our service centers here to arrange for a repair. https://www.arri.com/support/technical_ ... a_systems/
