I know this is not the typical place to post a job add. However I know a lot of very talented people frequent these forums, so I thought I would throw this out there!
I work with Bling Digital and am looking to find a Workflow Producer for our New York office. The short and sweet of it would be that this person would oversee our dailies lab on a technical level for this New York branch. I am hoping to find someone that can be client facing, but also get their hands dirty and understand the nitty-gritty of the technical side of things. A geek with swagger if you will!
A few things that would stand out would be:
- A decent understanding of cameras and how each vary from one another. (Mainly RED and Arri)
- Colorfront Experience
- Ability to lead a team
- In depth understanding of formats, compression and transcoding
- An understanding of DIT/DUT on set work
- An understanding of workflow from camera through to delivery and how each department fits into the puzzle
How we operate at Bling for our Producers I think can best be described by this picture
This person would be in charge of designing the workflow for ensuring what is seen visually from a color science perspective on set is what we get in the lab, and what we pass along to all other departments. Therefore just to be clear, considering in the past I have often received applications from people that want to be Producers or Writers. This is more a technical person that can oversee the technical workflow for the office and is much much different then producing a film.
