Acoustic noise from ARRI L7 TT and L5 TT

I have observed an annoying high frequency noise from my ARRI L7 and L5 TT LED fixtures when operating at LED temperatures between 67,8 and 69,2 degrees Celsius.
I bought 20 of these fixtures for studio use (video production/TV shows), and want to avoid use of cooling fan. But the "melody" these lamps are playing, makes them more or less worthless for me.
If you'd like to listen to the ARRI melody, I have made a short video documentation here:

Lamp settings:
Color temperature: 3200K
Fan setting: VARI
Intensity: 70-80%
Firmware version: 2.0.5

Wonder if anybody else has made similar experiences?

Sorry for the issues you have been having. This is not an problem we see often.

It might be best for you to contact your local ARRI service center. Perhaps the fans need to be serviced. You can find a list of ARRI service centers here:

If you need an immediate fix I would suggest to try to run the fans on "Low Mode". This will make the fans run at a constant speed and should produce no more than 20dB of sound.

All 20 lamps are brand new. So far I have tested 3 of them, and all have the same behaviour - making this crying "melody" at about 68 degrees Celsius LED temperature. I don't believe that all these fixtures suffer from a fan failure. Besides: The test was run in Fan VARI mode which means the fan is not supposed to run until the LED temperature gets too high.

Hi,
we would like to check one of these fixtures here in the factory - brand new fixtures need to be silent, of course! Please contact me via email: service-lighting@arri.de
Thank you!
