Hello,
First post on this site as this problem has been confusing me and my DP who owns the camera for the last few months.
On set in June we ran into an issue with the DP's Alexa Mini where artefacts began to show on the image.
Upon plugging in a Teradek 500 onto a D tap splitter, the connector started to smoke up (correct orientation, possible unregulated dtap splitter). It was promptly disconnected but artefacts started appearing on the image, baked on the footage.
After the camera cooled down, the artefacts did not come back however.
months later and a service at Arri UK including testing and a sign off that no damage has been caused to the camera we have just seen these artefacts appear once again. The camera was ran until lunch and the fan mode was on low noise, so I can only assume its an overheating issue?
It is rather worrying and any help and advice would be much appreciated
Thank you very much
