Hi everyone!
Do i need to use lens support? I will use arri amira and angenieux ez 1/2.
I will shot all time handheld*** (box, kickbox documentary)
Angeniuex ez1 and 2.. has 2.1kg,
but in user manual for amira i saw: “ Lens Support —-Heavy lenses (above 3kg/6.6lbs) require additional lens support. Using a lens support guarantees that the weight of the lens will not influence the flange focal depth and reduces stress on the lens mount. ARRI offers a wide range of lens supports for 15mm and 19mm studio rods.’’
Ps. I tried to put a panavision lws, but it is not compatible, because it pushes the lens up.

Hi Enis,
2.1kg does not sound too heavy, but keep in mind that especially when the camera is used hendheld, a proper lens support does also protect the lens/camera system in a certain way against accidental bumps etc.
When used on a tripod, the risk of damage is far lower.
So I would highly recommend to use lens support.
Best regards,
Andreas Berkl

Since the Panavision LWS isn't compatible, you can look into ARRI's dedicated 15mm or 19mm rod-based lens supports, which are designed for Amira and won't push the lens up.
