I recently acquired an Alexa plus which came with the XR module included. The module itself has an XR to sony Sxs adapter and the camera only came with two SxS cards as media. I tried recording on ProRes 3.2k with the 64gb SxS card but after some minutes of recording an error comes up and the camera stops recording. When I downscale the sensor mode to 2k I have no problem recording. I wanted to know if the camera records in 3.2k ProRes 4444 only when using the XR codex cards, since they allow a faster rate of data being transfer.
Thanks a lot!

Cecilia

Dear Cecilia,

which SxS-Media di you buy with the camera? Can you give us details on the error?
Ideally would be if you could send us a logfile to digitalworkflow@arri.de.

The XR Capture Drive is the superior media and does not limit ProRes recording.
See Manual, page 106: https://www.arri.com/resource/blob/7628 ... l-data.pdf

Thanks, Jan! If I switch to using XR Capture Drives, is there any setup or configuration I need to adjust in the camera menu, or will it automatically detect and use the higher recording mode like 3.2K ProRes 4444

Hi,
nothing needs to be done, the camera enables what is possible on its own.
