Hi guys,
Apologies for the simple question, but:
I work at a rental house in Tokyo; we have updated our fleet of ARRI Orbiter and SkyPanel X lights to LiOS 3.2. In the "Wireless" menu, the CRMX mode is no longer selectable--it's set to a default of CRMX classic and stuck there...
How can we change CRMX mode to CRMX2, and set universes, etc. for the light?
Hoping someone sees this!
Cheers
Tom

Hello Tom,
If the fixture is linked via an external transmitter, the CRMX mode and the CRMX output are set automatically by the transmitter. If the fixture is connected via a linking key, a valid linking key must first be set on the control panel. The CRMX mode and the CRMX output can then be configured.

Hey there Brian,
Thank for the response, and apologies for the late reply!
This answers our question, so all good
Perhaps other rental houses get the same request, but our customers often ask us to configure DMX profiles and addresses on the lights for them before we send their lights out: either to save them time, or because they aren't sure how to do it. Traditionally (for regular DMX/CRMX) we did not set the universe (A, C... etc.) for them as most lights did not offer this setting option; but we were happy in earlier versions of LiOS to see that we could make this setting ahead of time (before connecting to a transmitter).
I can advise our customers now, in LiOS 3.2.1, that the transmitter will set universe (on the light) automatically on connection; and for customers using CRMX2, we can ask them for their linking key and set CRMX2 reception and universe (A, B, C, D... etc) for them, should they require it (though the same applies: light will configure automatically if linked to a transmitter so-configured).
Much appreciated, Brian!

Hi Brian, thanks for the info! Just to clarify: if we’re using an external CRMX transmitter (like a LumenRadio unit), we can’t manually change the CRMX mode or universe on the fixture itself, it’s entirely controlled by the transmitter, correct?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Hi Tom,
In LiOS 3.2, CRMX settings were moved — go to Settings → Wireless DMX Manager. There you can switch to CRMX2 and set universes.
Hope that helps!
