Encoder mode more like LDE-1

The new encoder mode for the cforce motors is great. But would it be possible to have them behave more like the old LDE-1, where you don't calibrate them by motor, but rather by hand or another motor? Would be an amazing and in many scenarios a time saving option when you're just using it as an encoder.
