Im currently running a Beachtek DXA preamp to my Alexa MiniLF. I usually have my shotgun Schoeps miniCMIT and a wireless hop on there. Ive read that the Schoeps miniCMIT also supports 12v and I read that the 6-pin lemo powers that. Do I really need to go into a pre-amp box or can I bypass it and get a 6-pin lemo to 3-pin xlr and plug the mic directly into the camera? Only trying to slim up the rig for long days. I know it’s smarter to run it through the box. If anyone has a recommendation on the proper tested cable I would need that would be great. Thank you!

unless the Schoeps microphone outputs audio line level (which I very much doubt), you will need a microphone pre-amp to bring the levels up to the cameras line level inputs.

The 12 volts ("P12" ) are just a variant of the "classic P48" phantom power.
