I'm trying to recreate an early dusk scene with SkyPanels mimicking the cold sky. I set the camera's white balance to 3800K and the SkyPanel to 8000K, but the light didn't appear blue at all on the camera monitor (Alexa Mini). Even when I increased the SkyPanel to 10,000K, there was no noticeable change. However, when I switched the SkyPanel to 5600K with CTB mode, the result looked better, a little bit more blue.
Shouldn't the SkyPanel light appear cold/blue at 10,000K when the camera is at 3800K? What could be causing this discrepancy? Any insights would be appreciated!
Why Doesn’t My SkyPanel Look Blue at 10,000K with Camera WB at 4000-3800K?

Hello,
I'm not totally sure what you are specifically referring to when you say 5600K with CTB mode. Are we talking about using a full CTB on top of a 5600K base in Gel Mode? According to Lee's website, a Full CTB has a mired shift of -137. If we apply that mired shift to a 5600K base color temperature using this calculator, the resulting CCT is 24,000K. Far bluer than 10,000K.
Ultimately, we try to give you as many ways to control color as possible. Sometimes it's best to try gel mode, HSI, RGBW, or xy when you want something a bit more saturated and colorful.

Hello,
The SkyPanel's Gel Mode setting of 5600K base with a virtual full CTB applied ought to be more or less the same as the Lee calculation. Definitely much bluer than 10,000K.
