Hi All!!

Anybody know the flange distance on the mini??
Can´t seem to find it anywhere. Was wondering if something like this could be mounted on the mini?

http://www.slrmagic.co.uk/slr-magic-cine-lens.html

These lenses seem to be for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) of APS-C with E mount. It would be interesting to see them on the new mini in S16 mode or even the other sensor sizes. I´m pretty sure it has something to do with flange distance not being possible, cuz adapters are non existent.... MFT and APS-C have 20mm flange distance as far as I know...

Anyone know anything about this??

Hi there,

Alexa Mini with a PL-Mount has a flange depth of 39,5mm, any deeper and you will touch the cover glass.

What about the EF mount? I'm looking at trying out some M42 lenses (with relevant adapter) but reaaaaaaally don't want to do any damage.

Dear Adam,

as physics demand, we have to stick to 44.00mm on the EF Mount (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance).
So (without consulting our engineers) 52.00mm (PL mount) - 39.5mm = 12.5mm (ND filter mechanism & cover glass).
For EF: 44.00mm-12.5mm = 31.5mm

edit: confirmed by our engineers :)

Cheers,
Jan
