Hi all,
When you switch the recording mode to a ProRes that's smaller than HQ (basic 422 or LT) it gives a warning that there might be artifacts in log footage. Has anyone had bad luck with this? I'm going on a shoot that has some bulky interview times and I'd love to be able to shoot them on LT, and I always shoot log. How serious are these artifacts? In a doc situation it could be very helpful to lighten the load on my cards, but I don't want to have any problems that anyone beyond the craziest pixel peeper would notice.
Cheers
ProRes and LT

Hi there,
shooting Log C in a higher compression codec is not recommended because you will see compression-artifacts quite fast in homogeneous areas like blue sky where it will become "blocky".
Kind regards,
Jan

I have shot long interviews in LT with no noticeable issues in grading. That being said I did not have something like a Blue Sky or gradient grey background that would draw out such issues. If the setting is complex and diverse you should be fine depending on the client and need.
