Hello everyone,

we'd like to encourage all owners of old ARRI cameras, lenses or accessories with questions, their stories or pictures to share them here, open up the dialog to ARRI and like-minded.

I'd like to start off with an ARRIFLEX 35 medium format glass negative scan:

Hello,

I have a very early Arriflex 35 with the serial number No. 675. I was wondering if there is any way to determine the cameras history.

It has the early single lens release on the turret and early view finder. Interestingly the door has the number 527 cast into it making me think it comes from an even earlier camera. The Pertinax gate has been replaced at some point. The serial number is stamped on the front of the body lower left side unlike the later cameras where the number was stamped on the upper body.

I purchased the camera from a production facility in Germany where it was being used up into the 1980s.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Here are some photos of the camera I mentioned in my previous post.

Thanks,
Mike.
