Hello all,

My name is Nuno and i work as a DIT in Portugal.

A few day ago i was in a job shooting with an Arri Alexa SXT and i experienced a weird issue in Arriraw Converter...

i use Arriraw Converter many times...

this time i had this error message, you can see it in the annex pictures, only in the first clip of some Reel's...not all...

The error was: Thumbnail generation failed, and Error reading look LUT data from buffer. Incorrect buffer size.

We were shooting Arriraw, 2.8k, 25 fps.

The weird thing was that this clips were ok, i work with DaVinci Resolve and all footage was ok,

but i could not read them in Arriraw Converter....

(I'm using the last version available - ArrirawConverter 3.4.5.4)

why?

we'd need further data to investigate the error.

- which version of the Codex Production suite are you running?
- can you upload a sample *.ari file somewhere or mail it to digitalworkflow@arri.de?

i was still using Codex VFS, since the camera was a SXT upgraded from a XT, still using Codex Capture Drive XR.

And i was using a Codex thunderbolt Capture Drive Dock.

we were shooting with anamorphic lenses. HAWK.

The clips i could not open were always the first one of the reels, and not all reels...

The arriraw footage was all ok, since i could browse it, play it, grading it and converted it without any issues.

Dear Nuno,

the error lies within the Virtual Files System, it is simply too old for a proper SXT ARRIRAW workflow and clean metadata handling.
Make sure you switch to the Production Suite.

Yes, totally; a handling issue caused by the outdated VFS.
