Aging on RGBW

Hello,

Recently came across a topic of aging on LED fixture consisting of R,G,B leds.
If I am not wrong, Skypanel uses R,G,B and warm white. As far as I understood, R and G leds usually get aged quickly.
So kind of wonder if this design will cause different timing of aging on each leds in Skypanel.

Apart it would be good to learn if any suggested frequency of calibration to ensure the optimum operation.

Cheers,
Rakesh

Hello Rakesh,

Thanks for your post.

The SkyPanel does use RGBW LEDs in order to create full spectrum light and has as been engineered to cool and control the LEDs so that there will be very little shift in color. In our data sheet you will see that we specify that the SkyPanel will only drift approx. +/- 5% in color temperature over the entire lifetime of the fixture.

Many other manufactures overdrive their LEDs in order to get higher output which drastically reduces the lifespan. This is not something that happens in an ARRI LED fixture. With the addition of cutting edge thermal management, the SkyPanel has an amazing 50,000 hour lifetime. There is no need for recalibration because of these factors.

I hope this answers your question. Thanks again.
