Hi everybody, I was wondering why 4444xwproress(UHD) format of Alexa mini is 16bit, and RAW is just 12bit(2.8k). I attach a photo made in davinci, any suggestions ?
Thanks!

Hey!
I don't see any screenshots attached but I'll take a guess and say that Resolve is reporting the container bit depth as opposed to what's inside it. 12bit data in a 16bit container.
"Apple ProRes 4444 XQ: Like standard Apple ProRes 4444, this codec supports up to 12 bits per image channel and up to 16 bits for the alpha channel."
Best,

ARRIRAW is encoded (but not captured) in 12-bit log, yes.
Just had a look into Resolve, and as I thought, it is showing 16 bit for 4444XQ as that is what it can 'hold'; 12 bit image data + alpha, which is not used in our cameras.
Best,
