I would greatly appreciate some feedback regarding an issue I'm currently facing with the Codex 1TB cards.
It has been over 8 weeks since I sent in a non-responsive Codex 1TB Card, as both my camera and computer fail to recognize it. Today, I received news that the thermal pads need to be replaced, but the repair process will take another 6 weeks! It's quite frustrating, especially since no loaner card has been offered, leaving me a bit unsettled.
Considering I'm an owner/operator, these cards haven't been heavily used (only 14 months old). Additionally, with limited usage due to Covid closures, I'm left puzzled. I'm curious if anyone else has encountered similar issues where a card fails to mount or be recognized by the camera. Is this a common occurrence?
The failure of these thermal pads has raised concerns for me. Has anyone else experienced their card becoming extremely hot after recording? Mine gets scorching hot, to the point where it's almost too hot to touch. I worry about the impact of such heat on the internal components and long-term reliability of the media. I would appreciate if an Arri technical representative could shed some light on this matter.
Any comments or insights regarding these matters would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear about these circumstances. Has the problem been resolved by now or are you still waiting for the repair?
Please send me a PM including the service case number so I can discuss your case with the service departments at CODEX and ARRI.
In general, the thermal pads, which fall under assembly of the drives is not an issue as far as I can see.
