MVF-2 brightness/contrast

I've had multiple DOPs complain that the ALEXA35 MVF-2 eyepiece is too bright/contrasty for SDR viewing. At the lowest setting (120nits) it certainly looks a lot brighter than my Flanders at 100nits SDR standard brightness. I assume it's because the panel needs to be very bright and contrasty for HDR production but why is there no setting below 120nits and/or more settings to customise brightness/contrast? I can't find much chat about this online. Is it a known thing? Or am I missing something?

Dear sgoeschel.
the MVF-2 is calibrated for precise image display.
I am afraid there is no other option than with ALEXA 35 to use the LIFTED BLACK option. This, also it slightly reduces the contrast, does not reduce the brightness.
Best regards,
Andreas Berkl
