Hi there,
well... sometimes quiet is good news.
We're not 100% certain if it will make it in the next SUP release, but it is definitely still on the roadmap!
Best,
Jan

I can confirm the S16 mode is planned for the next software update for AMIRA (SUP 4.0).

Is there a full roadmap for the Amira that is available? Would love to know what other features are possibly coming in the future? Any idea with SUP 4.0 will hit the site? I was confused because it was announced but it is still not available for download.
Let me know!

AMIRA Software Update Package (SUP) 4.0, released in April 2016??? Its May and it’s still not available. Why is there a article on the Arri site claiming this is already available when it clearly is not?Jan Heugel wrote:Hey,

Matt,
we are in the final stage of SUP 4.0 release, it is just around the corner.
The post on the website was a little bit too early though, off again for now.

First off, I'd like to say how much I really like s16 mode on the amira. In principal it allows us to use fast lightweight zoom lenses that also give us huge focal ranges. My only problem is that the sensor is about a millimeter larger than an actual s16, so a lot of lenses produce a pretty heavy vignette. I know Arri has to up-res to 1080p as it is but adjusting the crop of the s16 mode to the actual s16 sensor size would open up so many more possibilities of lens choice and truly unlock the potential of this mode on the amira. Is there any chance this could be tweaked for a future SUP? Thanks!

Hi David,
can you send me a list of the lenses you see vignetting (mduerr@arri.de). We have tested many lenses and only found a few which showed a vignette in the recorded file.
We saw other users testing lenses with "surround view" activated, which shows also areas of the sensor which are Not recorded.
Once they switched off the surround view, or checked the recorded files, the vignette disappeared.
