Hello, I'm a cinematographer, and I've shot a feature film with the new Alexa 35.
I filmed a soot that was a pan from right to left. In the background was a public garden with some buildings behind.
This particular shoot is a drag image; there's no motion blur, something like a high shutter problem.
A flickering or a stroboscopic effect at the end of the pan. The buildings behind jump from frame to frame, and it's a slow pan.
The footage was converted to HDE in production. Maybe that's the problem.
In 10 weeks of shooting, this is the only shoot with this problem.
Does anyone have a problem like this or a solution for it?
I've checked the specs, and the shutter is 180º at 25 fps in an exterior shoot in daylight.

Dear Paulo,
HDE does not tinker with the image. If look at the MXF/ARRIRAW you'll see the same effect.
Without having seen the footage, I guess we're looking a spanning speed issue vs. high contrast edges.
We'd love to have a look at the HDE clip.
Please feel free to mail us/share the clip at digitalworkflow -at- arri.de.
Cheers,
Jan
