Arriflex 435 ES Advanced

Hello,

I recently saw a couple of Arriflex 435 ES Advanced cameras for sale, and was wondering about the "ES Advanced" naming. I only know the cameras as ES, Advanced, and Xtr.

I'm confused about that name. I thought the Advanced always had all the features of the ES included. Or were those cameras upgraded?

it is not wrong, but mixed up:
There's an ARRIFLEX 435, 435 ES, and 435 Advanced:

ARRIFLEX 435 ES ("Electronic Shutter")
The electronic mirror shutter, which can be continuously adjusted from 11.2° to 180°, enables preset exposure programs to be executed. The integrated function expansion module of the ARRIFLEX 435 ES opens up extensive remote control options with dedicated interfaces, connection of motion control equipment and thus access to the latest production processes. In addition, the module also controls the time code exposure in the camera.


ARRIFLEX 435 Advanced
The ARRIFLEX 435 Advanced utilizes all the possibilities of the existing modular 435 camera system but incorporates a completely new electronic design, a modified mirror shutter drive and an interface for external motion control systems.

The 435 Advanced features the same mirror shutter as the 435 ES plus the above.
