Unusual image corner beahviour.

During a shoot today I started experiencing a strange corner flare/smear effect. There is even a vertical line that separates that creates a change in exposure.
I tested it with a few lenses and even with different mounts (ef and pl)
and found roughly the same behaviour

this is with a mattebox on.

anyone has any idea what this is?

upon further investigation I found this behaviour in all corners.
I also notice a quite shiny area inside the mount and I am started to suspect that this could be the cause
